Role involves design analysis, drawing production, site inspections, and collaboration with architects to ensure code-compliant, safe, and innovative structures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, with emphasis on structural design.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000/ETABS/SAFE) and CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for tender and construction.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and safety adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure using advanced engineering principles and software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for tender and construction purposes.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
• Investigate existing structures, assess their condition, and recommend appropriate repair or reinforcement strategies.
• Stay updated on building codes, standards, and new materials relevant to structural engineering.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Professional registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA is essential.
