Qualifications

• Registration with ECSA is desirable.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in structural design software, and excellent problem-solving capabilities. You will collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable structural solutions for buildings and infrastructure, contributing to the built environment of this historic and dynamic region, with opportunities for both office-based collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building projects, including foundations, beams, columns, and roof structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and engineering standards in South Africa.
• Collaborate with project teams, including architects and contractors, to integrate structural designs seamlessly into the overall project.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Review and approve shop drawings submitted by contractors to ensure they meet design intent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure).
• Strong knowledge of material properties, building codes (e.g., SANS 10160 series), and construction techniques.
