Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer in Port Elizabeth to perform in-depth structural analysis and fatigue assessments for mechanical components. You will use FEA tools to predict performance, identify failure modes, and guide design improvements, ensuring reliability on diverse projects.

The role requires a degree in engineering or applied mathematics and hands-on experience with ANSYS or Abaqus, with a focus on accurate problem solving and detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
• Proven experience in structural analysis and stress calculations.
• Experience with dynamic, vibration, and fatigue analysis is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed stress analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for various mechanical components.
• Analyze results from simulations and experiments to assess structural integrity, fatigue life, and failure modes.
• Develop and refine analytical models to accurately represent physical behavior under static, dynamic, and thermal loads.
• Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback and recommendations for design improvements to enhance structural performance.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting analysis methodologies, results, and conclusions.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in FEA techniques and structural analysis best practices.
