Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Network Planner for our client in Polokwane, Limpopo. This office-based role focuses on strategic planning and design of wireless and fixed-line networks, analyzing performance data and forecasting capacity to support growth.

You will collaborate with RF and core network engineers, manage planning budgets, prepare technical proposals, and ensure regulatory compliance while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of telecommunications network planning and design experience.
• Strong understanding of wireless (2G/3G/4G/5G) and fixed-line network technologies.
• Proficiency with network planning tools and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term and short-term network expansion and upgrade plans for wireless and fixed networks.
• Analyze network traffic patterns, performance data, and utilization metrics to forecast future capacity requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new network investments.
• Collaborate with RF engineers, core network engineers, and operations teams to integrate planning activities.
• Identify optimal locations for new network sites and equipment deployment.
• Ensure network plans adhere to technology roadmaps and business goals.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation and presentations for planning proposals.
• Manage the network planning budget and track project expenditures.
• Evaluate new network technologies and their impact on future planning.
• Ensure network designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
