Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Head of Supply Chain and Logistics based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This senior leadership role will drive end-to-end supply chain strategies, optimize procurement, warehousing and transportation, and lead a high-performing team in a safety- and sustainability-focused environment.

The role requires a Master’s degree in SCM and 10+ years of progressive leadership in industrial logistics, with strong analytics, vendor management and international trade

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Proven ability to develop and implement complex supply chain strategies.
• Strong procurement, inventory, warehousing and transport optimization experience.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Excellent vendor/contract management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with SCM software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, warehousing and transportation functions.
• Optimize logistics networks for timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
• Implement advanced inventory control to minimize stockouts and carrying costs.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance within supply chain operations.
• Lead and mentor the SCM and logistics team; drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Leverage data analytics to forecast demand and drive efficiencies.
• Collaborate with production, sales and finance to ensure seamless operations.
