Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Production Planner for our client in East London, South Africa. The role focuses on scheduling production runs, coordinating with procurement, and optimizing line utilization to meet customer demand.

You will work with sales, procurement, and production teams to create feasible production plans, manage schedules, and resolve conflicts in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar planning role.
• Strong understanding of production planning methodologies, MRP, and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, order priorities, and resource availability.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address unforeseen issues or changes in demand.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient line utilization and adherence to planned output.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate production plans and schedule updates to relevant stakeholders.
