Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Production Planning Engineer in Bloemfontein to optimize schedules, allocate resources efficiently and ensure on-time delivery of finished goods. The role blends office-focused planning with hands-on production coordination in a hybrid work environment.

You will leverage industrial engineering expertise to develop robust production plans, troubleshoot scheduling conflicts, and partner with procurement, manufacturing and logistics to meet demand targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning and inventory management.
• Proficiency with production planning software (ERP/MRP systems, APS).
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, material availability and production capacity.
• Monitor production progress against schedules and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
• Analyze production data to optimize line balancing, reduce lead times and minimize downtime.
• Implement and refine production planning systems and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare reports on production performance, scheduling adherence and capacity utilization for management.
