Job summary

Swiss Re seeks a highly motivated actuary for the Life & Health MEA Pricing team in Cape Town. You will blend pricing expertise with client engagement to tailor reinsurance solutions for diverse markets across Africa and the Middle East.

The role involves developing pricing bases, conducting experience investigations, and applying advanced analytics, including AI-enabled methods, to improve pricing and portfolio outcomes. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

Nearly or newly qualified actuaries (FASSA or equivalent).
Approximately 3 to 7 years of actuarial experience.
Experience in pricing, product development, valuation, experience investigations, or reinsurance.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams on pricing and product development for life portfolios.
Lead or support development and documentation of reinsurance pricing bases and terms.
Perform experience investigations on mortality, morbidity, lapse and claims trends.
Apply advanced analytics including AI-enabled tools to pricing and portfolio management.
Monitor in-force portfolio performance and support portfolio actions with teams.
Develop innovative pricing methodologies, tools and analytical capabilities.
Support business development and engage with clients during pricing and negotiations.
Share knowledge, provide technical guidance and mentor colleagues where needed.
Represent Swiss Re externally through client interactions and industry forums.
