Swiss Re in Cape Town is seeking a highly motivated actuary for the Life and Health MEA Pricing team. You will develop innovative pricing for reinsurance solutions across MEA, collaborating with local and global experts to deliver efficient, market-leading outcomes.

The role blends technical pricing with client-facing responsibilities, requiring strong modelling skills (R/GLM) and the ability to communicate complex results clearly.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary with 4–8 years of experience in pricing or related reinsurance contexts.
• Familiarity with pricing structures and MEA/South Africa markets is preferred.
• Strong modelling skills and ability to explain complex results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the development, review and documentation of pricing bases and reinsurance terms for new and established products.
• Perform data analyses relating to emerging claims experience using R, GLM and related statistical methods.
• Monitor performance of the reinsurance portfolio with reporting and experience studies teams; ensure in-force pricing remains appropriate.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with clients and external partners on pricing and product development opportunities.
• Own and drive thought leadership as experience allows and provide guidance to others.
• Contribute to Swiss Re's market presence, including presenting at external events.
