Job summary

Swiss Re in Cape Town is seeking a highly motivated actuary to join the Life & Health MEA Pricing team. You will shape pricing and reinsurance solutions for diverse African and Middle Eastern markets, collaborating with clients and global experts to deliver robust, innovative results.

The role blends technical pricing with client engagement, offering a hybrid work model and strong growth opportunities in a global reinsurance environment.

Qualifications

• Nearly or newly qualified actuaries (FASSA or equivalent).
• Experience in pricing, product development, valuation, experience investigations, or reinsurance.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with actuarial modelling and statistical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams on pricing and product development across life portfolios.
• Lead or support development and documentation of reinsurance pricing bases and terms.
• Perform experience investigations to assess mortality, morbidity, lapse and claims trends.
• Apply advanced analytical methods including AI-enabled tools to pricing and client solutions.
• Monitor in-force portfolio performance and support portfolio management actions.
• Contribute to development of innovative pricing methodologies and tools.
• Support business development and engage with clients through pricing and negotiation.
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues; represent Swiss Re externally.
