Job summary

GPW in Pretoria seeks a Deputy Director in strategic management to develop and implement departmental planning frameworks and align them with government-wide prescripts. The role requires ensuring consistency with MTDP, SONA priorities, and SDIP while coordinating planning workshops and performance reporting.

The successful candidate will manage resources, develop the Directorate’s operational plan, and oversee budget adherence in a complex public service environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience at middle/senior level (Deputy Director) in strategic management environment.
• Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Regulations.
• Knowledge of the South African Constitution and Public Service Act.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement frameworks on strategic planning matters.
• Align departmental strategies to government-wide planning prescripts and frameworks.
• Develop the Departmental Strategic Plan and ensure alignment of APP indicators to outcomes.
• Coordinate development of Annual Operational Plans and the Service Delivery Improvement Plan (SDIP).
• Monitor and evaluate performance information and reporting to EXCO/MANCO.
