Job summary

GPW in Pretoria seeks an experienced risk management professional to develop and implement governance documents and a comprehensive risk framework. The role requires strategic risk assessments, training, and liaison with auditors to ensure robust risk reporting across GPW.

The ideal candidate holds a degree with a minimum of 3 years at Assistant Director level in risk management, plus strong knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and governance principles.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus Degree as recognised by SAQA.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience at an Assistant Director level in risk management.
• Driver's licence is an advantage.
• Experience in integrity management is an advantage.
• Understanding of HR legislative framework, regulations and prescripts (expert).
• Understanding of Public Service Act and Public Service Regulations (expert).
• Understand PFMA and Treasury Regulations (intermediate).
• Knowledge of King Report and Good Governance principles (expert).

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate risk governance documents.
• Advise management on risk management matters.
• Conduct risk assessments and maintain risk registers.
• Embed a culture of risk management across GPW.
• Manage risk reporting and liaison with auditors and stakeholders.
• Oversee sub-directorate performance and capacity building.
