Job summary

Ad Talent Africa is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Sales Manager to drive new business and manage key client relationships in the advertising and media sector in Sandton. You will identify opportunities, pitch campaigns, and close deals across outdoor and mobile platforms.

You will develop relationships with media agencies, upsell services, and consistently meet revenue targets while staying informed on industry trends. A driver’s license and travel readiness are preferred for client meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration, marketing, communication or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a Sales Manager or similar sales/business development role within advertising and media.
• Established, active relationships with at least three media planners/buyers across major media agency groups.
• Strong understanding of outdoor advertising, media planning and the advertising sales environment.
• Proven track record in new business development and revenue generation.
• Strong understanding of advertising and marketing techniques.
• Good knowledge of current trends and developments within the sales and media industry.
• Ability to identify opportunities, generate leads and convert prospects into clients.
• Strong relationship-building and key account management skills.
• Highly proactive, persistent and confident when engaging with potential clients and decision-makers.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for client meetings would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritise, pursue and close new business opportunities.
• Proactively contact businesses and potential clients to generate new leads.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Promote the full range of advertising and media services available.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers.
• Manage and grow key accounts.
• Drive sales across available advertising sites and mobile advertising platforms.
• Onboard new clients and secure advertising campaigns on available sites.
• Follow up with existing clients regarding new advertising opportunities and available sites.
• Develop and deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations to prospective clients.
• Consistently achieve and exceed revenue and sales targets in line with business objectives.
• Analyse sales performance and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Provide daily sales activity and pipeline reports to senior management.
• Build relationships and register with relevant media agencies to increase business opportunities.
• Stay up to date with trends, developments and opportunities within the advertising, media and sales industry.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and close deals effectively.
