Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly accomplished Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the Upington plant, overseeing production, quality, safety and cost efficiency. You will drive strategic plans to optimize operations and foster continuous improvement in a demanding industrial environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing management, a Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred), and proven leadership with Lean manufacturing and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management.
• Proven experience in leading large teams and managing complex operations.
• Strong understanding of operations management, supply chain principles, and financial management.
• Demonstrated success in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of the manufacturing plant operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of department managers and supervisors.
• Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage the plant budget, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.
