Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited in Cape Town, Western Cape, seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to deliver value-adding P&C partnership across assigned functions. You will support line managers, drive people initiatives, and embed the company’s culture framework for high performance.

The role requires 4–6 years’ HR generalist or HRBP experience in retail, strong SA labour legislation knowledge, and exposure to transformation and EE initiatives. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
• 4–6 years HR generalist or HRBP experience, in a retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation and HR compliance practices.
• Exposure to transformation, skills development, and equity legislation (EE, BBBEE, SD).
• Grade 12 / Matric.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner to service functions and managers by advising on P&C solutions aligned with healthcare objectives.
• Translate business needs into people plans that support operational delivery, compliance, and workforce optimisation.
• Provide day-to-day support on performance, conduct, talent movement, and general P&C advisor.
• Ensure consistent application of policies and labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, POPIA).
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast, plan, and fulfil staffing needs; oversee onboarding.
• Facilitate performance management processes and coach line managers on development and retention.
• Drive transformation, EE initiatives and workforce planning at site level.
• Leverage people analytics to provide insights on turnover, absenteeism, and productivity.
