Placements24 is seeking a strategic Category Manager for the Packaged Foods portfolio based in Rustenburg, North West. You will drive category growth, manage assortment, pricing and promotions, and lead supplier relationships to maximize profitability and market share.

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years in FMCG category or brand management, strong analytical skills, and experience with retail merchandising.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in category management or brand management within FMCG packaged foods.
• Proven track record of driving category growth and achieving sales targets.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in sales data analysis tools.
• Excellent understanding of retail merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional planning.
• Negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with North West retail landscape is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, market share, and profitability for packaged foods.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and threats.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and shelf placement to optimize performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring product availability.
• Collaborate with marketing on brand positioning, promotions, and new product launches.
• Work with sales to ensure effective execution of category plans at retail level.
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay updated on industry trends, consumer insights, and emerging technologies relevant to packaged foods.
