Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Fleet Operations Officer to lead the busy fleet operations hub. You will oversee dispatchers and drivers, optimize routes, schedules and maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This hands‑on leadership role requires strong logistics knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to drive continuous service improvements within the Gauteng hub.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in fleet management and logistics operations within large-scale organizations.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor a team.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety best practices, and fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Degree or certification in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet in Randburg, Gauteng.
• Manage and mentor dispatchers and drivers to ensure high performance.
• Develop and implement efficient route planning and scheduling strategies.
• Monitor fleet performance including fuel consumption, mileage and delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with national and provincial transportation regulations.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs and servicing to minimize downtime.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, incidents or customer complaints.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet activities, driver logs and maintenance schedules.
• Enforce company policies and procedures related to fleet operations.
• Contribute to strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs for the Gauteng hub.
