Placements24 is seeking a Director of Operations for a leading mining-services client, with a primary hub in Upington, Northern Cape. The role oversees planning, execution and optimization of all service delivery operations, with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency and profitability.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in operations management within mining or heavy industry, proven leadership of diverse teams, solid budgeting and ERP experience, and a strategic mindset to drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years operations management experience.
• 5+ years senior leadership within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic operational plans to meet objectives.
• Oversee service delivery operations including logistics, equipment management and field operations.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety, health and environmental compliance.
• Manage operational budgets, resources, and cost control measures.
• Lead and develop a team of operational managers and staff.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for operational efficiency, quality and safety.
• Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction with service delivery.
• Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment and assets.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.
