About the Role

Our client, a prominent service provider to the mining industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead their diverse operational functions in the Northern Cape region, with a key operational hub in Upington, Northern Cape . This senior leadership role is responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of all service delivery operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in operations management within the mining sector or a related heavy industrial environment. You will oversee a significant team, manage operational budgets, implement stringent safety protocols, and drive initiatives to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the mining services or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven track record of managing complex operations and diverse teams in challenging environments.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial oversight.
• Proficiency in relevant operational software and ERP systems.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be willing to travel extensively within the region and reside in or near Upington, Northern Cape .
