Job summary

Industrial Development Corporation in Sandton seeks a Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Manager to design, implement, and continually improve the IDC Compliance Management System. The role provides second-line oversight, advises on regulatory risk, and embeds a culture of ethics and accountability across the corporation and its subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will translate regulatory requirements into prioritised plans, validate controls, drive remediation, and strengthen policy

Qualifications

LLB degree required.
Postgraduate qualification in Compliance, Risk, Governance, Law or Business Administration advantageous.
Accreditation with the Compliance Institute or eligible to register advantageous.
Professional certification in Compliance Management advantageous.
Data Analytics, Privacy or AI Governance certifications advantageous.
8–10 years' experience in Compliance, Governance, Legal, Risk Management or Regulatory Affairs.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance management.
Computer literacy: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the compliance management framework, methodologies, policies, standards and procedures.
Identify, analyse and monitor applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
Maintain the regulatory universe and compliance obligations register.
Facilitate compliance risk assessments across the Corporation.
Evaluate compliance risks and determine mitigation strategies.
Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance controls.
Maintain compliance risk management plans and action registers.
Escalate significant compliance risks and breaches to governance structures.
Monitor remediation activities and validate corrective action implementation.
Develop and execute risk-based compliance monitoring plans.
Conduct compliance reviews, testing and assessments to determine effectiveness.
Analyse findings and prepare management recommendations.
Provide assurance on regulatory requirements and controls.
Maintain records and evidence of monitoring activities.
Coordinate with Internal Audit and other assurance providers.
Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory developments.
Assess impact on the Corporation and implement changes.
Provide advisory support on new and amended legislation.
Prepare regulatory impact assessments.
Monitor implementation progress and readiness.
Provide compliance and regulatory advice to management and business units.
Support governance committees with reporting and advisory services.
Build relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
Provide guidance on regulatory and governance risks.
Support business initiatives with regulatory analysis.
Develop compliance awareness and training initiatives.
Facilitate training workshops and awareness campaigns.
Promote culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
Develop guidance material and communications content.
Evaluate training effectiveness.
Support digital transformation in compliance.
Leverage data analytics to improve monitoring and reporting.
Implement automated monitoring where appropriate.
Ensure data governance, privacy and information security compliance.
Develop governance controls for AI-enabled solutions.
Assess AI/regulatory implications of emerging tech.
Collaborate with IS, Risk, IA and Technology teams on governance.
