Qualifications

• LLB degree as the minimum qualification.
• At least 3 years' experience in regulatory, legal and compliance.
• Experience in legislative and regulatory monitoring.
• Understanding of compliance risk identification and mitigation.
• Ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational capability.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Resilience and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Identify applicable legislation and monitor the organisation's regulatory universe.
• Develop systems to identify changes in the regulatory environment and facilitate timely responses.
• Draft risk mitigation plans to address legislative and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to direct compliance matters to the appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
• Develop and implement effective compliance programmes.
• Develop and implement compliance training and monitoring programmes.
• Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies, including the NCR and FSCA.
• Assist with coordinating the implementation of organisational policies.
• Coordinate implementation of the organisation's complaints procedure.
• Facilitate reporting to the Social and Ethics Committee.
• Identify draft laws and policies that may affect the organisation and prepare submissions to relevant structures.
• Identify policy issues that may adversely affect B-BBEE and assist in developing appropriate advocacy strategies.
• Assist senior risk and legal stakeholders with the implementation of an effective Ethics Management programme.
