Job summary

The Recruitment Council seeks a proactive Compliance & Governance Officer to oversee the group-wide compliance framework and governance functions from its Durban office. You will support Wealth and Corporate divisions and coordinate with regulators and external compliance partners.

The role emphasizes regulatory oversight, policy updates, audits, and staff training to ensure ongoing alignment with FICA, PAIA and FSCA requirements while maintaining high integrity and transparent governance

Qualifications

• Education: Law, Compliance, Risk Management or related field.
• Regulatory knowledge: FICA, PAIA, FSCA, governance principles.
• Core competencies: integrity, attention to detail, strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the group’s compliance framework and governance programmes.
• Keep policies, manuals, registers and regulatory returns up to date.
• Monitor changes in legislation, conduct internal audits and perform risk assessments.
• Serve as a liaison with regulators, external officers and service providers.
• Provide compliance guidance to Wealth and Corporate divisions and train staff.
