The role requires at least 4 years in purchasing within an industrial/mining environment, strong supplier negotiation, and proficient ERP use (SAP/Oracle). You will collaborate with maintenance and operations to forecast stock and ensure cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a purchasing/buyer role, industrial/mining setting preferred.
• Strong inventory management and warehouse operations understanding.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure mechanical/electrical spare parts, consumables, and equipment.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery reliability, and service.
• Negotiate favorable terms to achieve cost savings.
• Manage procurement from requisition to receipt with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and balance availability with holding costs.
• Implement robust inventory controls to prevent stockouts and obsolescence.
• Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts; resolve discrepancies.
• Operate and manage the warehouse facility safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with maintenance/engineering to forecast material needs and stock.
• Process purchase orders and goods received notes accurately.
• Prepare reports on procurement, inventory status, and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety regulations in warehouse and procurement.
