Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Buyer and Materials Controller to join our Rustenburg site. You will source mechanical/electrical spare parts, manage stock and ensure timely procurement to support mining operations.

The role requires 4+ years in purchasing and strong inventory management skills, with proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle). On-site work with safety-focused warehousing is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in purchasing/buyer role, preferably in mining/industrial environments.
• Experience in inventory management and warehousing.
• Strong supplier negotiation and management skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems for procurement and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure spare parts, consumables, and equipment.
• Evaluate, select and manage suppliers based on price, quality and delivery.
• Negotiate favorable terms to achieve cost savings.
• Manage end-to-end procurement from requisition to receipt.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and balance costs.
• Implement robust stock control to prevent shortages and overstock.
• Conduct stock takes and investigate discrepancies.
• Operate and manage the warehouse facility safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to forecast needs.
• Process POs, GRNs, and related documents accurately.
• Produce regular procurement and inventory reports.
