Job summary

Guardrisk, a leading insurer, seeks an Actuarial pricing specialist to support pricing, product development and insights for the General Insurance business. You will work with data scientists, actuaries and underwriters to develop holistic pricing solutions and new products.

Reporting to the Manager: Technical Pricing GGI, you will influence pricing accuracy, profitability and risk management across the product suite. A strong actuarial background and modelling experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Actuarial degree or strong mathematics/ statistics background.
• Associate Actuary status or progress toward exams.
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Modelling experience and knowledge of pricing frameworks.
• SQL, Python and R skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for product development and pricing frameworks.
• Coordinate with IT, underwriters, claims teams and product owners.
• Support rate reviews and re-pricing to maintain competitiveness.
• Oversee new product viability, commercial viability and compliance.
• Review and ensure accuracy of teammates’ work.
• Improve tools and processes monitoring policy values.
• Investigate deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure projects adhere to audit and risk requirements.
• Collaborate with external support to define pricing models.
• Assist clients in design of bespoke products focusing on profitability.
• Monitor product profitability and adherence to actuarial standards.
• Translate complex pricing insights into actionable business decisions.
