Job summary

Apex Group Ltd is seeking an STP Developer to join its Technology team in Johannesburg. You will help develop modern solutions, automate processes, and support a scalable operational model for global payment platforms.

Key responsibilities include delivering in an agile environment, building payment interfaces, and designing robust databases while maintaining existing platforms and participating in DR testing.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience delivering software solutions in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of payment rails and integration architectures.
• Experience with Azure integrations, API development, and database design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver as part of a team, using agile methodologies.
• Develop payment solutions interfacing with market infrastructure, SWIFT, and banks.
• Administer, configure and maintain payment platforms.
• Design, prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications per design patterns.

Role summary:

You will be a part of the Apex Group Technology team developing our modern solutions, process development and automation to improve business process efficiencies; provide superior client digital services and support the scaling of our operational model.

Key responsibilities:

• Working as part of a team, delivering through agile methodologies.
• Managing team priorities and progress on agile boards.
• Develop payment solutions interfacing with market infrastructure, SWIFT, and Banks.
• Administer, configure and maintain payment platforms.
• Design, prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications and on business requirements using agreed design patterns.
• Development of STP (Straight Through Process) solutions.
• Design and develop Database structures to support solutions.
• Optimization the build and release process.
• Working in collaboration with customers, partners, and peers to identify requirements.
• Helping break down large problems into smaller iterative steps.
• Contribute to defining the prioritization of your team’s backlog.
• Pick the most appropriate tool, method, and design pattern to satisfy the requirement.
• Proactively improves things where they see issues.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members.
• Provide training assistance Provide guidance and training to the applications and APIs consumers.
• Any other duties in the scope of the role that the company requires.
• Assist in month Maintenance and Disaster recovery testing.
• Maintain SDAL on VSTS and kanban boards.

Skills / experience:

• Core

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear understanding of payment technology and payment rails.
  • Ability to plan and manage your own workloads.
  • Strong ability to train others within your team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trading platforms and financial system integration will be an advantage.
  • Familiar with agile methodologies and experience in working in that way.

• Technical. Demonstratable 5 to 7 years’ experience of working with:

  • Experience on Azure Integration framework.
  • Microservices, API and Event Driven Architecture.
  • Experience on Microsoft .NET and API development.
  • Experience on Iway Service manager and Iway Data Migrator will be an advantage .
  • Experience in developing payment or bank interfaces will be an advantage.

• Primary Candidate Technologies:

  • Azure Integration framework;
  • Website technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript);
  • SQL and Oracle databases.
  • iWay Software platform will be an advantage.
  • Git & GitHub.

• Valued Technologies

  • Advanced experience with standard tools used for software development like git, VSTS, etc.
  • Good understanding and experience following test-driven development and continuous integration practices.
  • Experience in working with a team who are DevOps oriented.
