Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking an experienced Stores Controller to manage daily stores operations, stock receiving, issuing and dispatching, and maintain accurate records in the South African construction sector. The role requires strong leadership, planning and problem-solving, with forklift licence and driver’s licence advantageous.

You will coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and suppliers to ensure materials are available when required, while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification required.
• Strong leadership, communication and planning skills essential.
• Experience in stores/inventory management in construction/electrical sectors advantageous.
• Familiarity with stock-control, receiving and issuing procedures.
• Proficient in stock-management systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily stores operations including receiving, storing, issuing and dispatching stock.
• Maintain accurate stock records and supporting documentation.
• Control electrical materials, tools and project-related stock.
• Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and suppliers to ensure material Availability.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and report discrepancies.
• Supervise stores personnel and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Maintain stock security, traceability and accountability.
• Assist with stock audits and cycle counts.
