Job summary

Mr Price Group Limited is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive store targets and customer service excellence in a retail environment.

You will manage stock, oversee customer experience processes and develop the team to deliver strong sales performance while implementing company initiatives from Head Office.

Qualifications

• Grade 12.
• Three to five years of experience in retail store management.
• Knowledge of sales & service management.
• Budgeting knowledge.
• Business understanding of retail trade, brand, customer & product.

Responsibilities

• Lead stock receiving, unpacking and replenishment on the shop floor.
• Monitor stock levels and minimise loss with defined processes.
• Oversee stockroom maintenance and write-offs/returns.
• Analyse sales and profitability reports to inform action plans and increase sales.
• Review product performance and feedback to the support centre for improvements.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Lead and develop store team to achieve KPIs.
• Identify training and development needs and succession planning.
• Recruit, manage performance and implement innovation initiatives from Head Office to delight customers.

Job Description

Lead and manage the daily operations of your store to ensure that the overall objectives which include store targets, innovation initiatives, and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

• Ensure that stock is accurately received & unpacked to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
• Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes to mitigate risks (stock loss) and ensure adequate stock on hand.
• Oversee the overall maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
• Authorize write offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Analyse sales & profitability reports in store to collaborate with management on required operational action plans, increase sales performance and monitor store expenditure.
• Review and keep abreast of in-store product performance to provide feedback to support centre and enhance sales.
• Identify and propose new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Conduct compliance checks through defined processes to ensure and enforce overall compliance to policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management:

• Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes (through the execution of business instruction letters, markdowns, repricing, promotions, customer experience plans, visual standards, customer feedback, general housekeeping etc.) to meet customer service standards.

Leadership & Development

• Lead and drive the team within a store to achieve store KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.
• Identify & drive training, coaching and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
• Recruit, administer & manage performance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Implement Innovation initiatives from Head Office to delight our customers and improve in-store processes.
