Mr Price Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Table Bay in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will support daily store operations, drive sales, manage stock, and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service.

The role focuses on achieving KPIs, maintaining stock integrity, and coaching staff to ensure alignment with brand standards and company policies. This is a full-time on-site position in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of supervisory/assistant store management experience.
• Understanding of sales & service management and budgeting responsibilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.
• Understanding of retail trade, brand, customer and product dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in daily store operations to meet targets and service standards.
• Manage stock reception, merchandising, stock levels, and stockroom housekeeping.
• Analyse sales and profitability reports to support action plans and improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures through defined processes.

Job Description

Support the store manager in managing the daily operations of a store to ensure that the overall objectives, store targets and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management

• Ensure that stock is accurately received & unpacked to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
• Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes to mitigate risks (stock loss) and ensure adequate stock on hand.
• Oversee the overall maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
• Authorise write offs, breakages, recalls and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability

• Analyse sales & profitability reports in store to collaborate with management on required operational action plans, increase sales performance and monitor store expenditure.
• Review and keep abreast of in-store product performance to provide feedback to support centre and enhance sales.
• Identify and propose new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.

Risk Management

• Conduct compliance checks through defined processes to ensure and enforce overall compliance to policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management

• Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes to meet customer service standards.

Leadership & Development

• Lead and drive the team within a store to achieve store KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.
• Identify & drive training, coaching and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
• Recruit, administer & manage performance in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade: 12.
• 2 to 3 Years' Experience in a Supervisory/Assistant Store Management capacity.
• Understanding of Sales & Service Management.
