Store Manager (Luxury Retail) required in Cape Town.

Our client is a luxury retail brand seeking an experienced Store Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations, team performance and sales growth of their Newlands store.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded leader who can deliver exceptional customer service while growing the store's customer base and revenue.

Salary: R25k - R35k per month, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations, opening/closing, security, housekeeping and overall standards of the store.
• Lead, motivate, coach and manage the retail team, including rosters, performance and training.
• Drive daily, weekly and monthly sales performance and ensure targets are actively managed.
• Deliver a high-end, personalised customer experience and build strong client relationships.
• Manage customer follow-ups, complaints and service issues professionally.
• Oversee stock control, receiving, stock counts, replenishment and loss prevention.
• Manage cash handling, daily reporting, reconciliations, administration and store expenses.
• Identify opportunities to increase store traffic, sales, referrals and repeat business.
• Build relationships with hotels, concierges, tour operators, tour guides and relevant local businesses.
• Support and coordinate store events, launches and customer activities.
• Provide the owner with relevant sales, customer and operational feedback and reports.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' retail management experience, with responsibility for a store, team and sales performance.
• Experience in premium or luxury retail is strongly preferred. High-standard hospitality or design-led retail experience may also be considered.
• Proven experience of improving sales performance through team leadership, customer development and disciplined follow-up.
• Experience with rosters, performance management, recruitment, training and difficult staff conversations.
• Sound stock, cash, administrative and reporting controls
• Confidence using retail systems, sales reports and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong commercial awareness, networking and business development ability.
• An interest in art, design, craftsmanship and luxury retail would be advantageous.
• Excellent spoken and written English. Additional languages may be useful in a tourism-facing environment.
• Own reliable transport and a valid driver's licence to visit local partners when required by the final operating model.
