Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is hiring a General Assistant (External Applications Only) to deliver comprehensive customer service in-store, handle merchandising, shelf labeling, and housekeeping within a defined area. The role requires basic calculations, English and local-language communication, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities include advising customers, resolving complaints, maintaining planograms, and ensuring safety and OHSA compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related work experience.
Grade 12 without related work experience accepted.
Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
Valid South African ID or work permit.
Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
Area fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
Area must be free of obstacles; stock merchandised safely for customer flow.
Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
Complete Checklists as required when on duty with canteen and toilet/showers schedule.
Ensure OHSA safety compliance within area of responsibility.
