Job summary

South African Airways is seeking a skilled plumber to install, maintain, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot plumbing systems and water infrastructure across SAA facilities. You will ensure reliable water supply, sanitation services, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted facility operations.

Responsibilities include executing PPM schedules, inspecting pipework and equipment, attending to breakdowns, restoring services within SLAs, and supervising contractors while maintaining asset records.

Qualifications

• Matric and trade plumber certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OHS training completed.
• National Certificate in Plumbing completed.
• Backflow prevention certification advantageous.
• Legionella awareness training advantageous.
• First aid certification advantageous.
• Working at Heights certification completed.
• Confined Space Entry certification advantageous.
• 2–3 years post-trade plumbing experience.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, airport or large facilities environments.

• Ensure compliance with plumbing regulations and standards.
• Conduct risk assessments before maintenance activities.
• Adhere to OHS requirements.
• Maintain plumbing asset records.
• Assess asset condition and recommend refurbishment.
• Supervise plumbing contractors and verify workmanship.
• Monitor contractor performance and safety compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4
• Trade Test Certificate: Plumber essential
• Valid Driver's Licence
