South African Airways is seeking a skilled Electrician to perform maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, inspections and installation of electrical systems across SAA facilities, ensuring safe and uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure.

The role requires a Grade 12, a valid Trade Test Certificate as Electrician, 2–3 years post-trade experience in facilities management or similar, and a valid driver's license. This is a 12-month contract position with no expectation of permanence.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent qualification at NQF level 4.
• Trade Test Certificate: Electrician essential.
• Electrical Engineering N4 - N6 will be an advantage.
• Wireman's Licence will be an advantage.
• OHS and First Aid Training will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2–3 years' post-trade experience in facilities management, airport, commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Valid Driver's Licence.

Responsabilités

• Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
• Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency callouts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, and work orders.
• Support asset lifecycle planning and replacement initiatives.
• Monitor and supervise electrical contractors.
• Ensure availability and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure.
