Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a primary school in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will support learners with diverse learning needs in an inclusive classroom, collaborating with therapists and school psychologists to tailor educational plans.

You will implement IEPs, adapt instruction for varied learning styles, monitor progress, and maintain confidential records, contributing to the students' academic growth and personal development.

Qualifications

• Recognized teaching qualification with specialization in Special Education.
• Experience with primary school children with learning disabilities, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges.
• Knowledge of special education methodologies, assistive technologies, and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management and ability to create a positive and structured learning environment.
• Experience with assessment tools for IEP development and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with curriculum standards.
• Provide direct instruction in small groups or one-on-one, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians and school staff to support each student.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor progress and adjust strategies.
