Job summary

Lesedi Nuclear Services Pty. Ltd. seeks a Spares and Services Technician to coordinate service opportunities, quotations and spare parts for industrial clients.

You will act as the link between clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure service projects are accurately scoped, costed, planned and executed. You will visit sites to clarify technical service scopes, prepare quotations for labour/materials/spares/subcontracted services, and monitor costs and timelines while maintaining client

Qualifications

  • National Diploma, N6, Trade Qualification or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
  • Project Management qualification will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Additional technical or maintenance-related certifications will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming RFQs and scopes of work.
  • Visit site to develop technical service scopes with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate preparation of quotations for labour, materials, spares, equipment and subcontracted services.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, materials and mobilisation requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify variation orders and opportunities for additional service work.
  • Maintain awareness of commercial and contractual requirements.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Spares and Services Technician is responsible for coordinating technical service opportunities, quotations, project activities and spare parts requirements across a range of industrial clients. The role serves as the link between clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure that service projects are accurately scoped, costed, planned and executed. The incumbent will support the successful delivery of maintenance and technical service projects while identifying opportunities for additional work and enhancing customer satisfaction.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Service Opportunity and Quotation Management
  • Review incoming enquiries, requests for quotations (RFQs) and scopes of work.
  • Assess opportunities and identify missing technical information.
  • Visit site to develop and clarify technical service scopes with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the preparation of quotations for labour, materials, spares, equipment and subcontracted services.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Prepare, submit and track quotations.
  • Follow up proactively with clients on submitted quotations.
Project Coordination and Planning
  • Plan manpower, equipment, materials and mobilisation requirements.
  • Coordinate activities between clients, site personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, procurement and spares departments.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify and elevate risks, delays and project issues.
Technical Support
  • Conduct site visits to assess client requirements and project needs.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
  • Support technical fault-finding and problem‑solving activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
Cost and Commercial Management
  • Monitor project costs and delivery timelines.
  • Identify variation orders and opportunities for additional service work.
  • Maintain awareness of commercial and contractual requirements.
  • Support cost‑effective project execution.
Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships.
  • Provide regular project updates to the Service Manager.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
QUALIFICATION
  • National Diploma, N6, Trade Qualification or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
  • Project Management qualification will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Additional technical or maintenance-related certifications will be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in an industrial, engineering, maintenance, service or project environment.
  • Experience in quotation preparation, estimation and project coordination.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance and technical service environments.
  • Experience managing spare parts, procurement processes and supplier relationships.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and external service providers.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as IFS, Sage or similar.
  • Experience within power generation, mining, heavy industry, process plants or industrial maintenance environments will be advantageous.
  • Experience working on power stations, mines or process plants will be highly advantageous.

  • Understanding of project coordination principles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quotation development, costing and pricing practices.

  • Knowledge of technical drawings, specifications and scope development.
  • Understanding of contractor and supplier management.
  • Basic commercial and financial acumen relating to service projects.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements in industrial environments.
