Job summary

G-Core Capital in KwaZulu-Natal seeks a Space Planning Administrator to ensure efficient use of retail space by coordinating documentation and admin tasks aligned with business goals.

You will manage store layouts, planograms, and budgets, liaise with merchandising and operations, lead a small team, and work with vendors to obtain required equipment and software, driving improvements and reporting on space efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Admin or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in retail operations or space planning.
• Strong administrative skills: documentation, record-keeping, budgeting, vendor coordination.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient utilization of retail space through effective coordination, documentation, and management of administrative tasks related to space planning. They play a crucial role in aligning space planning activities with the overall business goals of the category management environment.

Key Perfomrance Areas:

• Accurate Documentation: Maintain precise records of store layouts, planograms, and other space-related documents to ensure consistency and compliance with company standards.
• Effective Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication between various departments, including merchandising, operations, and store management, to ensure that space planning aligns with overall business objectives.
• Budget Management: Manage the budget for space planning initiatives, including expenses for software, equipment and labour to ensure cost-effectiveness whilst also optimizing operational efficiency.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all space planning activities adhere to relevant industry regulations and safety standards to create a safe shopping environment.
• Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate a team of space planning administrating staff, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the objectives and tasks related to space planning.
• Vendor and Supplier Management: Work with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment or materials for space planning activities, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data related to store performance, customer behaviour, and product sales to inform space planning decisions and drive improvements.
• Training and Development: Train and develop space planning staff, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any administrative or logistical issues that may arise during space planning initiatives to ensure smooth operations.
• Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on the effectiveness of space planning and category management efforts, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
