Job summary

Simera Sense is seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design, develop, test, and support advanced electronic hardware solutions for earth observation applications. Based in Somerset West, this on-site role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance systems for space missions.

You will work on PCB design, hardware integration, and testing, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s honors Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on electronic hardware design experience.
• PCB design and fabrication experience.
• Experience with satellite subsystems (actuators, sensors, RF).
• Maintenance and monitoring of electronic systems.
• Project involvement in custom subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and develop electronic hardware systems for space applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive system integration.
• Conduct testing and validation to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-704).
• Prepare documentation and reports for stakeholders.
• Stay updated with latest electronic hardware technologies.
