Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (Optomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related)
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical/optomechanical engineering, preferably in space
• Experience designing and developing optomechanical systems (mounts, lenses, mirrors, sensors, prisms)
• Proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in CAD and test equipment for optical/mechanical systems

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-precision optomechanical systems for spaceborne applications
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and high-tolerance drawings
• Perform tolerance and sensitivity analyses to ensure performance across environments
• Oversee integration and testing including environmental tests (thermal, vibration, shock)
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage project timelines and documentation
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
