Job summary

Bushwise is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join its luxury lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. This live-in role requires a skilled professional to lead kitchen operations and deliver outstanding guest dining experiences.

You will oversee menu planning, food cost control, and maintain high hygiene standards while mentoring kitchen staff. Fluent French is a huge bonus; rights to work in South Africa are required.

Qualifications

• Professional chef experience in a large luxury lodge or 5-star hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and kitchen operations.
• Excellent menu planning and food cost control skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a kitchen team.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest dining experiences.
• Fluent French-speaking ability is a huge bonus!
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
