Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Solar PV Design Engineer to join a fully remote team delivering state-of-the-art PV systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.

You will lead the technical design process, perform energy yield analyses, select components, and ensure compliance with South African standards and interconnection rules, all while collaborating with remote colleagues across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years experience designing Solar PV systems.
• Proficiency with PV design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp).
• Strong understanding of South African renewable energy policies and grid connection requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead the complete design process for Solar PV systems from concept to detailed plans.
• Perform site assessments, energy yield analyses, and electrical load calculations.
• Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and BOS components.
• Develop detailed electrical single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and installation guidelines.
• Ensure designs comply with national electrical codes (SANS, NEC), local regulations, and interconnection standards.
• Provide technical support to installation teams, project managers, and sales staff.

• Provide technical support to installation teams, project managers, and sales staff throughout project lifecycles.
