Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands‑on Solar PV Installation Technician to join our Rustenburg team. You will install panels, inverters, mounting hardware and electrical components for residential, commercial and industrial projects, ensuring high safety and workmanship standards.

You will perform site surveys, connect to grid or storage systems, and conduct post‑installation testing. A valid SA driver's license is required for travel within North West, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in solar PV installation or similar electrical role.
• Strong knowledge of solar panel systems, inverters, batteries and wiring.
• Familiarity with SA electrical regulations and safety standards for solar installations.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics and installation manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install solar PV panels, mounting hardware, inverters and electrical components per design and safety standards.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated Solar PV Installation Technician to join their expanding team in Rustenburg . You will be directly involved in the hands‑on installation of solar photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients, playing a crucial role in the transition to cleaner energy solutions. This position requires a practical, hands‑on approach and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. You will work closely with project managers and electricians to ensure seamless installation processes and client satisfaction, contributing directly to the company's mission of providing sustainable energy access in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar photovoltaic panels, mounting hardware, inverters, and associated electrical components according to design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform site surveys and assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of solar arrays.
• Connect solar systems to the grid or battery storage systems, ensuring proper electrical connections and grounding.
• Conduct post-installation testing and troubleshooting to verify system performance and identify any issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures while working at heights and with electrical equipment in Rustenburg.

Requirements
