Placements24 is seeking a Solar PV Design Engineer in Benoni, Gauteng to lead conceptual and technical design of PV systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. You will develop electrical and structural designs, ensure standards compliance, and optimize system performance within a collaborative team.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of PV design experience, with proficiency in PVSyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD Electrical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Solar PV design.
• Proficiency in PV design software (PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Strong understanding of PV system components and interconnection procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to read site plans and electrical diagrams.
• Registration with a relevant professional body is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Design PV solar energy systems including site layout, schematics, and component selection.
• Create detailed designs and simulations using PV design software.
• Perform energy production estimates and financial analyses for proposals.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and interconnection requirements.
• Collaborate with sales for technical input during proposals.
