Job summary

MyCareerCraft is looking for a hands-on technical expert in solar energy systems, based in Cape Town. The role requires a Matric certificate and a formal electrical qualification is advantageous. You will identify faults, conduct repairs, source parts, and provide technical support to clients and teammates in a collaborative environment. A strong understanding of inverters, batteries, and safety compliance is essential for this position.

Qualifications

Duties

In this hands‑on role, you'll be the go‑to expert for keeping solar energy systems running at their best. Your day‑to‑day will involve:

System Maintenance & Repairs — Identifying faults and carrying out repairs across solar PV installations, inverters, batteries, and general electrical equipment, including swapping out defective components to restore peak performance.

Parts & Documentation — Sourcing the right replacement parts and keeping accurate service reports and maintenance records up to date.

Technical Guidance — Interpreting technical drawings and manuals to carry out work correctly, and producing training materials or conducting equipment demonstrations when the need arises.

Customer & Team Support — Offering technical assistance to clients and collaborating within a skilled technical team, while also being capable of working independently.

Safety & Compliance — Upholding electrical safety standards and ensuring all work meets relevant regulations.
