Job summary

Network2 is seeking an immediately available Electrical Technician with a focus on solar and electrical systems to join our Kensington team. The role spans residential, commercial and industrial projects, emphasizing maintenance, renewable energy systems and backup power solutions.

The ideal candidate is trade-tested, has a Wiremans Licence, at least 3 years post-trade experience with solar PV installations and hybrid inverters, and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Trade Tested Electrician certification is essential.
• Valid Wiremans Licence (Single Phase, Three Phase or Installation Electrician).
• Minimum 3 years post-trade experience.
• Proven experience with solar PV installations and hybrid inverter systems.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Understanding of electrical compliance and safety standards.
• Valid Code 8 Drivers Licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Install, commission, and maintain solar PV and hybrid inverter systems.
• Upgrade DB boards, install wiring, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure electrical standards compliance; assist with energy storage.
• Participate in after-hours standby and emergency call-outs.
• Deliver professional service and on-site technical support to clients.

About the Opportunity

A well-established electrical and renewable energy services provider in Kensington, western cape is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, with a strong focus on electrical maintenance, renewable energy systems, and backup power solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Install, commission, and maintain solar PV and hybrid inverter systems.
• Conduct DB board upgrades, electrical installations, rewiring, and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out inspections, testing, and ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards. Assist with backup power and energy storage solutions.
• Participate in an after-hours standby and emergency call-out roster when required.
• Deliver professional service and technical support to clients on site

Minimum requirements
