Job summary

Core Group ZA is seeking a hands-on Software Tester to safeguard the quality of omnichannel software across web and mobile. You will design and execute test cases, explore beyond scripted scenarios, log defects, verify fixes and contribute to automated testing for reliable, secure releases.

You will perform functional, regression, integration and UI testing, plus cross-device and cross-browser exploration, with a focus on accuracy and customer-centric quality.

Qualifications

About the opportunity

Core Group is looking for a hands‑on Software Tester to help protect the quality of our omnichannel software across web and mobile. You’ll design and execute test cases, explore beyond scripted scenarios, log clear defects, verify fixes and contribute to automated testing so that releases are reliable, secure and customer-focused.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, document and execute functional, regression, integration and UI test cases against acceptance criteria.
• Perform exploratory, cross-device and cross-browser testing to identify issues beyond scripted cases.
• Log clear, reproducible defects with useful evidence, verify fixes and track issues through to closure.
• Contribute to automated functional and regression test suites within the team’s framework and standards.
• Support release testing, QA sign-off and readiness for peak-trading and major product-launch windows.
• Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, reproduce issues and improve quality throughout delivery.
• Follow secure test-data handling and compliance practices and continue building testing and automation skills.

What we’re looking for

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field — or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in software testing / QA. Relevant internships or project work may be considered for less-experienced candidates.
• Solid grounding in functional, regression and integration testing and writing clear test cases.
• Ability to log clear, reproducible defects and verify fixes.
• Understanding of web and native mobile testing, with growing automation and API-testing capability.
• High attention to detail, good communication and a quality-first, customer-focused mindset.

Advantageous

• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent.
• Retail, e-commerce or consumer app experience.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks.
• Experience testing native mobile apps across devices and OS versions.
