Job summary

Core Group ZA is seeking a senior QA Team Lead to own the quality assurance function for its omnichannel platform and in-house software. You will lead test strategy, quality gates and a high-performing testing team across web, mobile, POS and integrations.

You will plan QA delivery, define metrics, and ensure comprehensive testing—functional, regression, API and performance—while embedding test automation into CI/CD. Expect leadership responsibility and peak-trading readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software testing / QA, including recent experience leading a QA team.
• Deep expertise in QA strategy, planning and functional, regression, integration, API and performance testing.
• Strong test-automation strategy and CI/CD integration experience.
• Proven ability to run the QA function independently, including planning, resourcing and release sign-off.
• Strong people leadership and the ability to communicate quality risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• ISTQB Advanced or equivalent testing qualification.
• Retail, e-commerce, POS or omnichannel experience.
• Automated testing experience across web and native mobile.
• Experience delivering QA through high-demand product launches and peak-trading periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure defects are triaged, tracked and resolved within agreed delivery expectations.
• Partner with Engineering Leads, Architects and stakeholders to communicate quality risk clearly and coordinate readiness for peak trading and major product launches.
• Ensure QA follows security, data-protection, compliance, change-control and release-management requirements.

About the opportunity

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in software testing / QA, including recent experience leading a QA team.
• Deep expertise in QA strategy, planning and functional, regression, integration, API and performance testing.
• Strong test-automation strategy and CI/CD integration experience.
• Proven ability to run the QA function independently, including planning, resourcing and release sign-off.
• Strong people leadership and the ability to communicate quality risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Advantageous
