Capitec is seeking a back-end engineer to join our Credit Nexis team in Stellenbosch. You will own the back-end development for our credit estimate journey across web and app platforms, translating complex requirements into scalable solutions.
You will work with C#/.NET Core, AWS and SQL, build robust APIs, and contribute to migration efforts from legacy systems to modern architectures. Expect autonomy, collaboration, and a focus on secure, maintainable code.

We're growing our Credit Access team, and we need someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of meaningful work and help lift the people around them. A position in the team has recently opened up, and we're looking for a back-end engineer who doesn't need to be told twice. If you're the kind of person who spots a problem, solves it and then documents what you did for the next person we are looking for you.
What you'll do
The team
You'll be joining our Credit Nexis team a focused group of back-end engineers responsible for the services and features that help clients understand and access credit.
We own the full back end of our credit estimate journey (website and app) and are the custodians of our purpose lending product suite. Purpose lending is a product that pays retailers directly on behalf of clients, think home renovation suppliers, not a cash payout. It operates differently from a standard term loan, with its own interest rate structure and integration requirements. Our work sits at the intersection of client experience and financial infrastructure it's meaningful, technically interesting and directly affects how clients interact with their money.
