Job summary

Capitec Bank Ltd. is seeking an experienced back-end engineer to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable server-side systems within the Collections and Recoveries team.

You will translate requirements into robust APIs and data components, delivering fast, secure, and reliable software that directly supports debt resolution at scale. You will collaborate across teams, participate in DevSecOps practices, and contribute to a codebase the whole team is proud of.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven back-end software development experience with production-grade systems.
• Grade 12 National Certificate.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology.
• Solid back-end engineering experience with production-grade systems.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
• Working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with PostgreSQL writing efficient queries and data model optimization.
• Understanding of API design and development of reusable components.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and secure coding practices.
• Ability to debug complex issues under pressure and communicate clearly.

We're growing the technology capability inside our Collections and Recoveries team, and we need a back-end engineer who builds things that last. This isn't a maintenance role. You'll design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software systems building server-side solutions that are fast, reliable and built to scale. About the team

The Collections and Recoveries division is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating risk across all recoveries-related activities.The team uses innovation and technology to build a world-class collections capability one that serves millions of South Africans at a pace and scale few environments can match. Every system you build feeds directly into that mission.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years' proven experience in back-end software development, project delivery and implementation (in relevant development technologies/language). Experience with back-end frameworks and technologies
• Grade 12 National Certificate
• A relevant tertiary qualification Information Technology
• Solid back-end engineering experience with production-grade systems
• Proficiency inC# and.NET Core
• Working knowledge ofAWS and Azure cloud platforms
