Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst III in Johannesburg to track licenses, maintain asset inventory, optimize licensing costs and provide actionable reports on usage and lifecycle status.

The role involves developing policies, ensuring compliance, and guiding entitlement and procurement activities across cross-functional teams. A Matric or higher background in business/admin or IT is preferred, with strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Track software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and avoid penalties.
• Maintain an accurate software asset inventory including license keys, versions, installations and usage.
• Identify opportunities to optimize software usage and costs, e.g. reallocating underutilized licenses.
• Analyze and report on software usage, costs and lifecycle status; identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement policies related to software deployment, usage, training and awareness.
• Guide activities of team members responsible for entitlement management, compliance reporting and procurement processes.
