Job summary

Old Mutual Limited is seeking an Intermediate Software Asset Management Specialist to join our IT SAM team. You will help manage software inventories, ensure license compliance, and support dashboards, reporting, and tooling across our SA operations.

The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and collaboration with IT, finance, and business owners to optimize cloud licensing and SaaS usage. A 2–3 year background in SAM/ITAM is required, with relevant ITIL/Cloud basics advantageous.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–3 years’ experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, software licensing, or a related IT operations environment.
• Experience with software licensing agreements, entitlements, terms, and conditions.
• Experience using IT Asset Management systems, discovery tools, or platforms such as ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise-wide Software Asset Management platform: data maintenance, reporting, and operational support.
• Assist development and maintenance of dashboards and reports relating to licensed applications, SaaS usage, cloud consumption, compliance, and software inventory.
• Support SAM tooling activities: device inventory coverage, data validation, and analysis.
• Apply SAM best practices and help improve processes, documentation, and procedures.
• Analyze cloud and virtualization impacts on software licenses and escalate risks as needed.
• Monitor SaaS inventory to support cost optimization, version control, and unused/underutilised applications.
• Maintain accurate asset records by reviewing, updating, and validating software/hardware data.
• Prepare reports for the Software Licence Management Procurement team, business owners, and stakeholders.

The role contributes to software licence compliance activities by assisting with data analysis, reporting, inventory accuracy, and the ongoing maintenance of SAM-related information. The role provides operational support and advice on the management of software assets, including in-house, external, SaaS, and cloud-based solutions.
